Specifications
- These extremely powerful pliers are used for easy cutting of metal wire as well as hardened and heat treated materials and other extruded metals. The geometry of the pliers enables high pinching power with lower forces on the handle. This also improves ergonomics and makes work easier. BoltShark Cutting Pliers are drop forged from high carbon steel and have induction hardened cutting edges that can cut up to 6mm soft metal wire, 4mm hard steel and 3.6mm piano wire or spring steel. In addition to wire, BoltShark pliers also cut nails, screws and 5mm rivets with a fast and clean cut. The added groove holds the thicker wire in place and prevents it from moving along the cutting edges when the pliers jaws are squeezed.
- drop-forged pliers made of Premium Hard Plus carbon steel
- the hardness of the pliers is up to ~47 HRc, and the cutting edges themselves are inductively hardened up to ~64 HRc.
- the pliers have a finishing anti-corrosion black coating and are lightly oiled.
- double-layer plasticized handles with anti-slip protection ensure a good ergonomic grip
Advantages:
- They have a joint with two rivets, which by combined action increases the cutting force with less effort.
- The maximum force should be applied at the beginning of the cut, when the two handles are the furthest apart. BoltShark pliers are designed in such a way that the two handles are as close together as possible, which allows maximum force to be applied at the very beginning of the cut.
- When cutting wire with a thicker diameter (more than 2.5 mm), the wire usually moves along the cutting edges when the jaws of the pliers are pressed. An added groove on the cutting edges firmly holds the material and prevents such movement of the material, allowing efficient one-handed operation
- Tests show that when cutting 2mm piano wire with BoltShark grooved pliers, only 33% of the force required by conventional heavy-duty pliers is used.
- The central cutting edges bevel both sides of the cut
- A groove built into the cutting edge holds the material in place.
Usage:
- For precise cutting of soft (up to 6 mm), hard (up to 4 mm) and piano wires (up to 3.6 mm).
- Easy cutting of elements such as screws, nails, rivets, etc. up to 5 mm thick.
Tool size : 200 mm
